Keys to Writing Engaging Material for Social Media
Social Media is quickly proving to be the new frontier for many companies. These companies use it to establish a foundation in today’s marketplace. With over 500 million individuals logging onto Facebook daily, it’s no wonder so many companies want to become active in Social Media.
I’m Chris, the Social Media Marketer for AngelStar Digital. Here are some tips and tricks I have learned to further improve the reach of my company.
The most important thing is to realize that internet marketing is not like conventional advertising. The fans on Social Media don’t want to be constantly bombarded with the latest deals your company has to offer. They want to get to know you on a personal level, so they trust you enough to do business with you. It’s a proven psychological fact that people are more willing to do business with companies they know on a social level. These companies earn their trust and the consumers use them for that reason. If you post promotions, they only know your promotions and that is only half the battle.
Another important point to remember is that it’s not the size of your fan base but your interaction rate which you should be working on. You could have 4 million fans without any engagement to your posts. If they aren’t engaging your posts you’re just throwing money away because Social Media is about engagement and being social.
Some other helpful hints are:
Leveraging Accounts: You can do this by e-mailing all your past clients to follow/like/join you on Social Media.
Linkedin: This is a powerful base for B2B businesses, but I wouldn’t waste money on Linkedin advertising. Instead, you should focus primarily on sending out personalized messages to all of your connections, inviting them to follow your company page or join your group.
In relation to the comment above, if you do own a B2B company you should get on Linkedin. You should get an account right away and you should start connecting with business professionals. You can do this in a number of ways, from inviting your friends to connecting with people you may know.

3- Scroll down and it lists people you may know
You can also do a quick Google search for the owners of certain businesses you would like to engage, then look the users up individually and connect with them. If they require you to enter their e-mail, you can easily guess it by using their name@thecompany’s website or do a google search to find it online.
There are many more tips and tricks I have learned while being a Social Media Marketer. The important thing you must keep in mind is that there aren’t any rules for marketing or advertising. It’s all about what gets people going. What gets them to share and comment on your material and become a fan? Social Media is an ever-changing landscape with the most difficult element of all – the human element. So make your posts engaging and humorous, posting whatever it takes to get your target audience going.
